M25 Press release
Dear PGI,
I have spoken to Robbo and emailed him a copy of this press release yesterday I hope PGI will be able to use it. It is a new leauge and therefore I do not have piccys yet , but there were lots of me taken at World Cup if you would like a copy. This is a new leauge and some ground breaking new systems have been put in place regarding the marshalling. To the best of my knowledge their has not been a 7 man leauge in england before. either so I hope it will prove worthy of some coverage. I would appreciate PGI support in this series.
This is the official press release for the series.
New for 2003, after 2 years of research asking players on web sites, at events, at the Series 2002, at Millenniums and even the World Cup, Patrina “Sparklie Chick “ Lester of Diablo Maidenhead is launching the M25 league, what will undoubtedly be the showcase of British paintball.
Starting Sunday the 16th of March with 6 legs of 7-man teams, unlimited paint, all supair, at great venues with air fills to 4500psi courtesy of H-Pac and the best possible marshalling, this is what the South has been waiting for. Not only will it be an exciting, well organised event for our novice teams, It will be the warm up to the Millemiums that’s needed to help us get back to the days when the Predators ruled Europe.
You can’t run a tourney without good marshals and this was one of the issues that kept being repeated by the players. Moose of Millennium fame will be the Ultimate for the M25. The old school Goulo Lucius team, with over 10 years experience at international level, will provide consistent unbiased field ultimate's. Colin “Rommel” Knowles is really excited about this series and says, “the team can’t wait to get this started.”
Sparklie has selected teams to marshal who are committed to supporting the event and in conjunction with the UKPSF, they are being trained to UKPSF official tournament marshal standard. A world first is the chron marshal course, and again this has UKPSF backing. This should ensure standard Chronograph levels on the field and to reduce incidents of hot guns. “During marshalling at The World Cup, even through a thick jersey and Dye elbow pads, I still got a big nasty welt! Something has to be done,” said Sparklie.
Another first will be on line booking though Sparklie’s Emporium, her on line shop, so with a few quick clicks players can download all the details and book their team’s place. This will be available from March the 1st.
With a of host industry support and both Smart Parts and WDP providing techs to keep players in the game, there will also be lots of shops and the Smart Parts field to play on.
Sparklie has some interesting plans to encourage the general public to come and spectate. She has also been working with the organisers of the Series 2003, Southwest League and Midlands Masters to organise an all England Leagues final.
