accuracy is largely down to barrel and paint

Depends on your budget. Also, will you be venturing into the tourny scene or continuing with walk ons? There are cheaper options that are just as good.... I'd hold out for the etha personally. Of course these are my own views.

the luxe and ego are both cracking markers... BUT....

they feel very different to shoot. best suggestion i can make before you spend several hundreds of pounds on a marker is to see if you can get a good play with them both first. you will know then which is more suited to you.

also consider the likes of a DM11 or NT10 as other possibilities.

The luxe is a very very smooth shooting gun, quiet but not great on efficency. It will require more regular maintenance.

Ego 11 will shoot smooth for a poppet type gun and has an adjustable solenoid so can be tuned to shoot as smooth as you want. It has very good efficency fairly quiet as far as Ego's go and requires very little maintenance.

I will add that Planet Eclipse are based in the uk so customer service is second to none if you ever need them.

Like others have said accuracy is mostly determind by the paint quality and barrel.

I had a go on an Etha on sunday and was most impressed by it. Its a good cheap gun that has the usual Planet Eclipse build quality. It shot really well, has great efficency and is perfect for walk on days and woodsball. I have pre-ordered one.

I agree with Si the Luxe is UBER smooth, efficiency is ok but customer service is very hard to come by in the UK, as DLX is a US based company, the only service you may find is techs in the UK or someone who has a lot of experience.

As with Planet they are Top notch, you cant go wrong with them, all my guns have been planet and all have been faultless. Im not planning on switching company atall. I shot an Etha sunday and they are awesome. They were out-performing Ego 11's and Geo 2's - paint was very brittle and was coping very well with it. They are definatly worth the money, especially with the efficiency, build quality and especially customer service.

If your only going to be doing walk-ons, i know you havent opted for it but i'd go with the Etha as its a perfect scenario marker at a very affordable price. I'm getting me one after Xmas at that will do me well for Scenario and Sup-air.

Like Si said, Paint quality and barrel is the bigger factor, so it be best to save your money, get the Etha, and buy the best paint you can afford and size the paint to match your barel to get optimum accuracy and efficiency.

Hope this helped,

Josh.

Out of those two I'd go with the Ego11. I've always loved Planet Markers (I've shot markers by a lot of different manufacturers), every time I go for a new marker I end up with Planet again.

However, I would say to save your money and not buy either. Go for something like the Etha - their new marker, great value for money and it is modular so they will be releasing accessories for it in future which plenty of woodsball players will love - or something like an Ego7/8.
