hi dudes,

i have an ion and i just decided to clean the asa (the bit where you screw in the bottle) and have noticed a very small amount of lube. black stuff. is this normal or is it something i should be concerned about. ive just brought it.

no that will be a biuld up of crap just give it a wipe and leave it. dont relube it

tbh mate, i wouldnt think its a problem - it could be a little dirt, or could be lube - But it won't be anything that can affect the gun in any way.

Yeh clean it off, you shouldn't need to lube the asa its a bit dodgy if you ask me because some lubes and oils can combust under high pressure, i don't know alot but i would leave it alone. Just keep it clean and it should run fine!

Get a tissue, wrap your finger round the tissue, stick your finger inot your asa, rub the thred and clean it. Repeat until you take a clean tissue out.

thanks guys thought it was just crap building up. i didnt think lube and air mixed very well anyway!!!!

To be honest, its only on the HP side of the air system that you need to be really concerned with lube, the 300-4500 psi bit.

What goes into your ASA is LP, so 450-850 psi...still caution is advised, but its not teh same as the HP side.
