Looking into getting an LPR kit for my shocker, but I'm not sure if they are worth the hastle, fitting the LPR adaptor and then selecting the actual LPR (I like the Eclipse one) and fitting it all. The general concensus is that they are functional but only to a small degree in bringing the operating pressure down.
At the moment I don't really have a problem with it so should I bother?

Nope. It's just something else to faf around with & actually makes very little difference to the actual operation of the gun. The only advantage is that it evens out your input pressure, making for slightly more consistent shot velocity. Probably not enough to warrant the hassle of fitting it & setting it up. IMO.

Safeguards your solenoid from blowing from being over pressurized - i personally think all guns should have an LPR - but the mount does look shoddy and your guages are always up side down with it(or at least one of them is) - if you do try and straigten them it resricts air flow to the gun - i would personally go for it but they do look pretty vile.

Style vs performance i'd say

protects your noid, about the one and only reason, but will save you cash in the long term when the crappy sp vert reg keeps blowing and taking your noid with it:D

An LPR adds very much to the performance.

Instead of having to compromise between efficiency and hardness on paint, you get the best of both worlds.

Look at the DM4/5/proto, they shoot a million times better than the shocker, they are more efficient and gentler on paint.

The reason: they have an LPR running the gas that drives the bolt.

Also as said before, it protects your noid and looks really ugly.

I've ditched the crappy vert for a nice silver vert CP reg! Lots of opinions but I'm still unsure if I should go for one or not. Although most of you have reinforced what I have found on PBNation.

What mount are you referring too, as the one I have in mind is the evolve one.

Simple, waste of space. Even YDNA agrees - and he's probably one of the best (if not the best) SP techs alive.

Yeah I thought the LPR would be so good, I used it for 2-3 weeks. its just another thing to mess with, honestly, the shocker is the easiest gun to set up without one(pressure 190, adjust dwell till you get 290 FPS), with it you have to tinker alot and its not worth it IMO.
