Could I convert my model 98 custom to a low pressure nitro system with a lighter hammer, main spring and valve spring? If not what else would i need?

I would say that you problably can but would it really be worth it you could just spend a bit more cash and get a already low pressure impulse or somesuch just my 0.02$ .
Tippman makes a Low pressure chamber. You'd also need a nice reg. I'd say Plamers stablizer. Use the lightest springs you can and still get it up to velocity. See if you can find out what the highest flow bolt is for the M98 I believe you'd need a heavier hammer not a lighter one because then you'd have more mass opening the vlave with less force ... I have a Heavy hammer in my 'cocker and when I dropped it in it lowered my pressure significantly (couldn't give you an exact #, I don't remember).
A tight bore barrel such as a LAPCO would also help.

Why would I buy an Impulse? I can convert my 98 to low pressure for free cuz I can make half the parts. The only thing i have to buy is springs and vert adapter. O yea, where can i buy lighter springs at?
Most paintball stores should have them. I think you should buy Tippman's LP Chamber tho. That's cool that you can make your own parts ... maybe you'll start a LP M98 trend ...

My reason for asking is I have recently purchased a m98 for my style of weekend warrior playing. I use a fiber tank 3000 PSI and i get about 1200 to 1500 shots per tank. i have done nothing to the spring or chambers.
Mostly I play indoors in a tactical type of play with rooms, walls, doors and windows. I may play differently then you as i fire about 25 balls per game in a 10 minute interval.
So I guess ill sum it up by asking if you are wasting money on this cause you use up too many balls per game or are u wanting to take the perfect rec. gun and just jazz it up?

It is kool that I can make stuff. I have an 18" barrel and drop forward that i made myself also. Did I mention I am 14 years old. I play tournements and some times I will terrorize the neighborhood kids. I want low pressure because i want better effciency and consistency but I cant afford a new marker at this time. I will prolly end up making my own lpc too.
