i am currently looking to upgrade from a spyder to a better marker

I know the cockers and e-bladed cockers are a damn fine marker, as well as the angel, but what about things like the impulse.

Which ones should i be looking at....i have been going thru the classifieds and will be looking for a complete setup (ie with air). I know a lot of the marker choice comes down to personal preference, but what are the differences between a cocker, an angel, an impulse, a shocker and various other higher end markers available.

Should i look at moving up to marker x with a thought of getting marker y in a year......or just go straight for marker y now

When looking at whichever marker do i need to look out for anything in particular, or just make sure it is in good nick

i have about £500 to spend.....maybe a little more after christmas.....depending on how much beer gets drunks

cheers in advance

Depends really...what have you used?
You can get an 03 shocker for about that money..but doesnt have an eye and its open bolt which is technicly less accurate due to the way the air is imparted to the ball.
Impys are really tall, I mean really tall..a basic Impy has an immensly heavy trigger that is difficult to fire fast.
Angels have mixed reputations...some say they are unreliable and accurate others say the opposite...they are quite pretty tho.
Cockers..well...i have one...they can be a bit complictaed sometimes but only if messed aroud with..once they are setup...they are fine...they are also the most upgradeable marker available...if you bought a good vert feed cocker...you wouldnt need to buy another marker..you just upgrade. you can get s/h eblades for that money but it wont have an airsystem..however you can use a preset with them which are fairly cheap..or c002 if you want.
also, with an eblade it can be made to be loader limited as far as speed goes..ie it will shoot as fast as you can feed it.
have a look at the different markers at the money you have...remember...you can always get the extra bits later..if it means you get a better marker to start with.

the only marker i have used so far is a spyder imagine.....so i am really used to using an electric trigger

i know you can seriously modify the cocker range, which is why i have been looking at getting one of the ex-Bad Touch markers and getting an e-blade for it later.

I was just wondering if they are the best thing for your money thats all, i mean there are e-blades as you said going for £600 wiht no air on, then there are voodoo impulse (i presume this means they are electric ones) with air going for £450 - £500 with some modifications on them

I mean, hell, i live in manchester, i have been to planet and seen the nice nexus cockers on the wall and would really like one, but i cant see the point of getting a second hand one and waiting another 3 months to get the air bottle to go on it to use it.

Having said that though.....i also cant see the point in getting a 'lower' grade marker, to only want to upgrade in about 3 months

try them really, the stock impys arent to good, but the ones for sale at the moment are seriously upgraded ones with loverly triggers on them, with my i frame, i have virtually no pull at all, lets me rack out quite a few bps:) im constantly out shooting my egg. but then, i only went for an impulse because its a cheap option to get an electro, and im moving to an eblade now as i prefer them

So he has one for sale!
It sounds like you have your head screwed on mate...which makes a change.
if you go into planet often enough...they mighbe able to help you out with an air system or something...you could just get a vice vert cocker...then fit the eblade later...but it seems a shame when you can get an eblade for that money...get a credit card! or a loan!

looks like an e-blade cocker is the way to go then

even LJ with the impy is going for a cocker now

loans and credit cards are not an option with me.....i have never had one of either and don't intend to start now.....giving me a credit card is liking re-writing the national debt..... i could spend so much money in such a short time, Barings bank would look like a walk in the park :D

looks like it is finally time to sell the model helicopter and move on to my new hobby more seriously

cheers for the help fellas

i think i may have found a way to push the boat out a little and get a decent marker

sell the old one....extra money d'oh

as for your last comment skeet.....i am young (at least i think i am), i dont know about free (never been asked for a price list before :D) i aint got the kids but i do have the mortgage

anyroad....i figure even if i do get a marker with no air the next walk on is in January...so that gives me time to get a bottle, either on here or brand new.....

as for the gift voucher idea.....i like it man.....never thought of that one
