I was looking at getting the items below from Paintballwizard.com
Has anyone purchased a gun, mask, air, etc from them. If so how was your experience...Good? Bad? Im looking at getting me and my son into paintball. they seem to have the best price. I would check my local store, but the closest one is 2 hours away.

This is what I was looking at:

Spyder Xtra
Spyder E-99
Dye Invision masks
16oz Tank
68ci/3000 N2 Tank (just cuz Im the dad)
Revolution 12v Hopper

The total would be $618.00 incl shipping

What do you think
Thanks alot

it all depends if your wanting to play tournament or recreational paintball. They are however good starting guns or so ive been told as ive never used them, but if your looking to get involved in the tournament scene then mabey your best off looking in the classified section for somthing like a second hand Impulse, Angel LCD or a Cocker. Basicaly because these guns are a little faster and more upgradeable also parts are easy to come by. The mask is good regardless but im not sure about the air system as ive always used Angel air.
Hope this helps you :D

Sounds good to me-most people start of with spyders or 'clone' spyders. And dye is a very good make-in my opinion-their goggles allow you to see at a wide angle and don't restrict your head movement-so go for it in my opinion!! :)
Price sounds good as well! :D

A couple of points worth mentioning, you will probably need more than one co2 bottle, most rec-ballers with their own gear have at least three, and they will be 20oz not 16oz.

There are cheaper masks, like JT, but make sure they have thermal lenses, no fogging, really important.

Unless your site has air at the safe zone, stick with co2. If the site has air available at the safe zone, get air for both guns, it is better.

The site we would play at currently only provides CO2 refills, but is in the process of getting a N2 station.

The main reason for the smaller tank is its his first gun and I was just thinking that it would be smaller, lighter and easier to move around while playing.

I live at Monterey, CA USA and since its a premier scuba dive area Im sure the local shops ( must be at least 5-9 of them) could fill N2.

The only other thing I wanted to know is should I just buy new barrels for each gun now or wait?

As far as masks I just didnt want to cut corners there because of safety issues. I was also looking at the JT Proteus 2 which is in the same price range as the DYE's.

We just plan on playing for fun, no tournaments. If he decides he wants to go farther in the sport then he can upgrade to a better gun when he learns on the Xtra and gets more experience.

Thanks alot for all your help.

There's very little weight difference betweena 16oz and 20oz, but the 20oz holds more gas, more gas = more shots.

All the paintball masks are safe to use in this sport, buy the mask you feel comfortable with, but make sure it has a thermal lens.

I have no real experience with spyders, but they seem quite popular. An impulse would be my choice as they are good for any type of play, straight out of the box.

Thats a very good choice just for starting out and playing rec-ball. Spyders are solid starter guns and run well on co2 or N2. Altough N2 of course is the better. First thing to rember if u buy a gun under 300 dollars more than likely the barrel on it sux so its best to get a new one right away or u wont hit anything uless you are standing 3 feet away from ur target. I would normally recommend a Smart Parts barrel but due to their current escapade trying to take over paintball i cannot recommend their products. Try out a JJ Cerimac or Dye Xcel. Good Luck!:)

I would recommend a 14" Teardrop Barrel for both beacuse that's what I have on my Spyder Xtra right now it's great and I paid 80 bucks canadian for it (I am Canadian!!!!) so it is probably cheaper for you in the states or I would reccomend a 14" all-american I had it on my Piranha E-Force Core and I paid 70 for it

But that's my 2 cents worth
