601 is described as a medium strength retaining compound,which is normally used to hold bearing races in place when the mating surfaces alone cannot provide a tight enough fit.
To all intense purposes it will do the same job as loctite 243 BUT the two parts to be adhered together must be a good wobble free fit for the loctite to go off properly.
What application do you need this for? as a weaker product may achieve the desired results, without the difficulties of disassembly at a later date.
The weaker threadlock is 222 which is perfect for valves and retaining nuts but would be too weak for cocker pump rods esp. e-blades etc....
Retainer is a better solution than threadlock for feed necks 601 sounds perfect for that. dont overtighten the feedneck on assembly and let the loctite take the strain instead of the (usually) very fine threads.
