Players should be able to move freely around the division or up the divisions. They should not be able to move down a division until the end of a season.

In the current financial climate, teams need a degree of flexibility. Some players on a team may lose their jobs and as such can't afford to go to the other milleniums and if that team has a full locked roster that effectively means they can't play? If i've got that wrong please school me...Can someone explain to me the benefits of having locked rosters? I think they work best in the CPL or whatever the pro div is now but lower than that i can't see the point.

I think this needs discussion ....
Do you mean unlock the top divisions so more yanks might come over?

That would be great. Especially since the events schedule in the US is more sparse this year.

In fact Im all for mixed divisional games, like the old days.

Having the opportunity to be spanked by Dynasty or Joy, you felt like you got your moneys worth
In recent times the Millenium has not been synonymous with getting your moneys worth.

John, I am talking about unlocking them both sides of the pond mate.
The locked leagues were just about justified over there (the buy in NXL money etc) but that justification was never in place over here, I was gonna say they are an anachronism over here but on reflection, they were never ever justified in the Millennium.

Teams are groaning, sponsors are groaning and the bottom line is, locked leagues work when the sport they inhabit has reached a point of development (financial and internal) than just isn't represented here.

We need to rethink this, nah, bollocks, I have thought about it, these locked leagues ain't primarily in place for the benefit of the teams, that idea is a joke ..... we all know why they are there.
It will only change if you guys do something about it.

The system the yanks use seems to work , why on earth can we not adopt some thing similar is beyond belief , i myself i have had people quit this yr due to work or uni , Makes life very hard when you start a season of with 10 people on your MS roster and 3-4 can no longer make Practice or even the events !! Due to a change in circumstances .

Check this out its from the PSP pages , I really do wish the MS would look at some thing like this .

Roster Limits:

A Pro RaceTo - 7 roster may have players of any class.

A Semi-Pro RaceTo - 7 roster may have up to two Pro players and any number of Semi-Pro and lower players.

A Division I RaceTo - 5 roster may have up to two Semi-Pro players and any number of Division 1 and lower players.

A Division II RaceTo - 5 roster may have up to two Division 1 players and any number of Division 2 and lower players.

A Division III RaceTo - 4 roster may have up to two Division 2 players and any number of Division 3 and lower players.

A Division IV RaceTo - 4 roster may have up to two Division 3 players and any number of Division 4 and lower players.

A Division II RaceTo - 2 roster may have up to one D1 player and any number of Division 2 and lower players.

A Division III RaceTo - 2 roster may have up to one D2 player and any number of Division 3 and lower players.

A Division IV RaceTo - 2 roster may have up to one D3 player and any number of D4 players.

Now if we were to adopt a system like this , Its taken many years for the APPA to get this something like right , but no one really plays out of classification .

prime example of this is Davey and Glenn playing for a D2 team, this would not be allowed in the PSP , there doing nothing wrong its the league that’s letting the other teams down .

It sucks. At the beginning of this season, we had to either commit to the whole season, or lose our Div1 spot (which is worth nothing, but costs a fortune) and seeing as it was obvious we couldn't say for definite we had a full squad for every event, we had to duck out. All that work, down the pan.

The idea is good in theory, but as you say, the setup wasnt right for Europe.

I miss the days where you battle with a mix of teams. Ive personally played many teams and players that kids these days just dont get the chance to.

And what's highlighted is the beginning of the end .... as soon as you somehow conspire to achieve this in any sporting arena .... there's gonna be trouble a comin' ....

I am not sure yet on this because this is our first year in div .

But what edwards just said is spot on and needs to be enforced it just tyring to make it in div1 and div 2 and having a yank pro running around shooting everyone is just a joke.

I think the other major thing that needs to be looked at as well if they are going to continue with this locked div's is teams reffing for points.

I could understand it in div 2 or 3 but to have teams reffing in a locked div i think is bad for the sport and bad for trying to get new people to play.

I completely agree for the reffing team use.
This is a cheapest way for the millenium to manage reffing, but that's the most unsportive idea ...
