Hello kidz it's me again!

OK I'm currently in a bit of a dilemma regarding loaders and what I should do with them. I recently sold my impulse and within the near future I'm hoping to get a new toy, likely a A4 Fly or EBlade (maybe E2).

As it stands, I have 2 loaders already, a clear Y-Board Egg and a clear HALO B with TE software. Both hoppers have had their neck sanded down substantially to fit the very tight voodoo feed neck that was on my imp. And I was wondering what would be the best approach as far a loader suitable for my new toy

As far as the Egg is concerned, it's not rocket science or very expensive (3 quid) to buy a new race-way for it so it can fit whatever feed-deck on the new toy. Also as the battery door is stuffed, I'll be needing a new left side and door itself so that i can avoid the tape of doom (8 quid). What I'm really wondering about if the Z-Board is THAT much better than the Y I currently have, it it worth the £33 that it would cost? Enlighten me to the revisions and improvements over what I currently have. Also, if I were to get an A4 Fly I'd be rather interested in connecting the Egg up to intelli-feed.....would the board version make any difference there?

OK, the HALO...... The feedneck on this sucker is sanded waaaay down, fits the Imp like a glove but I've tried it on the grip neck on an EBlade and it spins like crazy (even when totally tightened).... I assume the same would be the case on the fly's neck? To replace the shell on the halo would cost about £23, which would give me a rip-drive ready shell. Now, are the newer boards (Z-Code, V35, Empire) THAT much better than the TE software that I have at the moment? What are the changes? And of course, would it be worth the 20-30 quid upgrade?

I liked the Egg on my Imp, easy to fill, balanced the game well and managed to keep up with my ROF fine. I suspect, whatever new gun I'll be getting I'll be able to shoot it faster than my old baby, not to mention the differences in weight distribution. So, it's over to you guys....what would you recommend I do, as far as upgrading?

PS:- As far as a spare loader is concerned, I have an X-Board Revvy, with the decent old style shell that never breaks.

well in my experience:

started with the y board eggy and an impy, not fasting enough, my cricket board kept on chirping.
then when i heard about the z board i bought one and fitted it, did a few loaders going through no on top of a gun and it emptied the hopper in about 7 seconds so not to shabby. but with my matrix (no eyes) i kept on chopping in games)
I just recently ive discovered how good halos are.
i used to play with a revvy and halos are placed on the gun very similarily to a revvy so its very comfortable. I used a z board halo for my last tournament on my gun and didnt chop once so i was very happy.
also i just got some victory boards for the 3, yes 3 halos i have. tried one with just feeding paint through and it fed an entire pot in about 4 seconds (on top speed((35bps)))
if you have a TE halo, get a V35 board, exactly the same as the z board (like it pulses when you have a jam instead of burning the motor out) except, you can choose from 5 different speeds!

so for me, Pros: i prefer the halo as it is placed better on the gun and is alot quicker and it looks gooooooood

cons: just about holds a pot, so when you fill up you will probably lose a few balls etc:)

Fly A4....

If you think you are going for the Fly, you will outshoot an egg with Z board. One of our team discovered this a little while back. He is now looking at getting a Halo to keep up! Rip drives and shells are cheap on Ebay (U.S.A.). Only downside to the halo's I see is battery life and battery cost!

Battery costs ain't an issue really.

Egg takes x2 9 volts @ say £3 each

Halo takes 6 AAs' at say £2.50/£3 a pack of 6

Fly feedneck should be fine with your sanded down loaders. The Fly comes with two different sets of o-rings (one fat, on thin) and should grip it in no problem.

I would give it a go before getting any new shells.

Oh, and forget the Evo II, it won't be fast enough for the Fly. Halo all the way - just use a good paint and all will be golden. If you find you are breaking paint in the loader, buy a Reloader B board or victory board and set it on a slower speed setting. Even the slowest speed setting is oodles faster than an Evo II.
