OK! Heads up boys & girls...
We seem to be having something of a dilemma...it seems everybody wants to play and nobody wants to marshal...
Not sure if everyone appreciates the significance of this event but this is in effect the finals of the United Kingdom Paintball Sports Federation 2002 series with some of the top teams in UK paintball vying for ranking positions.
Guys quite simply we need marshals...up until now the offer to marshal this event has been dismal. This is one of the most important events in the UK paintball calendar and it NEEDS your support.
Bully has put a phenomenal amount of effort into the UKPSF and the 2K2 series this year as have a great many other site operators and their staff. 6th Element has laid out a fortune and a lot of people have put in a lot of effort and their free time to try and make this tournament something special for those who didn't get to Campaign or Simply The Best. We've even pulled out our own 6E team of marshals who were looking forward to playing on home turf just so that there will at least be some marshals available.
There's also the regular crew that Bully has, mostly the Manchester Marshals who have largely been the unsung heroes of this series but I find it hard to believe that there are teams or even individuals who aren't playing on the 20th.
It's a 5 man format...got a squad of 6 or seven? Then persuade one or two of your guys to marshal for the day...only got three so u can't get a team together to play? Then marshal for crying out loud...come and make this event the best that it can possibly be...Every player MUST know someone who'd like to come and marshal for the day. Hell we'll even get your name on the credits for the video if that's what it takes.
If this event doesn't get the marshals it needs then you're looking at a self marshalling event. Based on the comments I've heard from previous self marshaled events I can't see that being too popular or even too successful given what's at stake...
It's great that 45 teams have entered and more are still trying to. This shows the huge following and dedication that this series has and it's a credit to all the players and teams. But you can set up all the sup'air fields, the safety netting, 4,500psi air fill stations, TV cameras, burger vans & trade stands at all these tourneys that you want...but without marshals it just aint gonna work.
And the guys down South...nothing on this weekend? Come up North. OK so I know it's a long way to travel but look how far people travelled to Kenny's Revenge...some of them just to marshal...come up Saturday...join us at the castle for the BBQ and a few beers and marshal Sunday.
C'mon guys and girls...the future of paintball depends on the attitudes of the players...now is the time when your sport needs you to give a little back. Contact Bully or us at 6E and lets make this the most successful event of 2002 calendar. Be a part of history...
