Lasoya quote in pgi

rancid

Mother, is that you?
latest issue, pg 71.

Chris Lasoya on X-ball: "Trying to play-on was pretty common, but if you noticed, seven or eight times out of 10 we would get caught and end up in the penalty box. If you don't play by the rules, you've got to pay the price."

Any comment?

Well the new format encourages playing on to a certain extent so what can everyone expect. Got caught 7-8 times out of 10.........lol, yeah im sure, didnt make a difference though they still won!

Sounds like something you hear a lot of sportspeople saying, when the stakes are high any advantage. In a way it's just like diving in the box to get a penalty or making the most of a tackle to get a free-kick or a player sent off....cheating but now unfortunately part of the game):

I don't condone cheating, I really hate it but I'm afraid that we have to accept that people will play the grey and stray heavily into the black areas of the game in order to win.

At least he wasn't complaining about the refs in that quote like a number of footballers over here would, he seems to accept that if you choose to break the rules and get penalised then that's right.

But I look forward to getting home and reading the whole article, as long as it's arrived

And he was only referring to himself.:D In the two complete USA matches I saw Chris got the penalty box 4 or 5 times.

Among other things it demonstrates he knew exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it.

I noticed his quote about playing in Europe as well. It went along the lines of if he could play in England every week, he would.

Well, on behalf of the Hellfish, I'd like to extend an open invitation to him to join us. He'd have to start as pot bitch, but everyone needs to start somewhere..... ;)

No, no, no, no, no...

The reason he wants to play in England every week is cos he thinks that our marshals are so damned lazy that he could play with multiple hits from the start of each game and not get caught:D

And England is close to Wales so he can get easy access to his fleecy nighttime companions... well that's what someone told me!
