ok, so the little git hates my egg and seems to refuse to tighten around it (please dont rip the egg, i know i need to upgrade but i dont have the money right now!); so i want to take it off, but how the hell do you do that, i can see two tiny grub screws that i cant find and allen key to fit, and ive been told by a mate with a trilogy comp' that once you get them out, its no easier from there onwards... any ideas on how i can take it out and if it will for sure, take a q lock or the similar as ive had those on previous markers and trust them to grip my little egg like how bill odie hugs trees (blame front_runner for the benal simile, he has me thinking about bill odie; not natural i tell ye!) :D

thankyou in advance, i know ill get swamped with help as usual :)

try bulking up your egg feedneck with a bit of electricians tape or similar. it will grip then.

tried it, the thing ripped it off as it went it and clogged up the thread on the outer twisting part... i had to very forcibly remove it and get the tape out

how comes??? is it a totally different fitting??? and if so, what does fit it? as i really hate the twister one.
I dunno I thought they made Q-locks to fit all markers

What thread is it?

If you're desperate & they don't make one for the Karni, buy a q-lock for another marker and take the thread and have it -re machined.

It is possible I know someone who converted a shocker one into an angel one.

thanks rosie, ive been looking in the uk, but everywhere seems to sell feednecks under the same section, no segregation due to different threads/markers/makes. so thats that part over with, i know i can get one to fit it by buying new or re-threading an old one.
*EDIT*im guessing it would be autococker thread through and through, but who knows...*EDIT*

so, onto how to remove the old one, any ideas anybody???

is it threadlocked in?
you might have to heat it with a hairdryer or something

use a strap wrench & a bench, or a vice

where are these screws? are they holding it onto the marker body?

if you give me a while, ill try and get some ok pics on... apparently the screws hold the threaded part that closes in onto a neck that is somehow attached to the main frame. this is so you can replace this part as it can wear down over time; maybe you actually cant remove the base part and you have to just attach a different top onto it. did any of that make sense???

If the Karnie uses the standard cocker set up then you have a male threaded piece sticking out of the body, which means that your adjustable feed neck has a female thread on it which you screw down onto the gun and then you lock the feed neck with the small screws at the base
The Q lock like you'd get from smart parts etc, has a male thread on it, and you can't screw a male thread onto a male thread, so therefore you have to get something that is cocker specific.
Hope this helps:cool:
