Kearney, Nebraska, Nov. 21-Team Avalanche, a fixture on the professional paintball circuit since 1996 and one of the most popular pro teams of all time, has announced the addition of twelve top amateur players to their roster for 2004.
David Bains, Jason Barrett, Adam Brescia, Andy Damgaard, Bryan Duffy, Casey Glaze, Adam Koomthong, Jason Lock, Mike Lynch, Jesse Lyon, “Cedric” Richard Roloff, and Glenn Takamoto will be combined with several current roster members to form Avalanche.
Avalanche tentatively will participate in all stops on the 2004 NPPL Super 7 Circuit, as well as select Division I X-Ball and Millennium Series events.
Damgaard left his spot on Vicious (the 2003 NPPL Novice Division Circuit Champions) and began playing for Avalanche temporarily this Fall, as did Lynch. Lynch also spent time with Evil Factory in 2003.
Bains, Barrett, Brescia, Cedric, Duffy, Glaze, Koomthong, Lock, Lyon, and Takamoto just spent the last season as members of the KAPP Factory team, who captured the 2003 NPPL Amateur Division Series Championship.
“We feel like we’ve just taken steps to make Avalanche VERY competitive on the pro circuit once again,” said Avalanche owner Ed Poorman. “We are looking forward to the 2004 season.”
“We are really excited about becoming part of Avalanche,” said Dave Bains, via cell phone from Colorado. (Bains is in Denver attending an event of new teammate Mike Lynch.) “We expect to have a great future with Ed. I think this will be the first of many great things for us.”
