Firstly charge the battery in the trigger frame. Then if using for tournaments lock off fully automatic, to change to semi-automatic.
The familiarise your self with the marker. Go through the manual.
Oil the insides. Simply put about 3 drops of lubricant into your bottom line and screw on your air system.
Cock the gun and fire the gun dry about 20 times to get the oil around the insides.
Attach a hopper and fill it with paint. Now head over to the crono and test the gun out onto the crono. Follow the manual instructions and adjust the input pressure into the marker, i think its around 500-600psi for spyders (not sure). Then at the back of the spyder should be a little knob, this adjusts the tension of the spring behind it. Turn inwards (clockwise) to increase the velocity, and turn outwards (anti-clockwise) to decrease the velocity.
The velocity should be below 300 fps at all times.
Hope that helps :)

First off - Input pressures into an stock E-99 is 800psi... same pressure as straight from a Co2 or Preset. We dont know what system he has yet if its Air or Co2... guessing Co2.

You cant do this oil into the air inlet crap, thats ballz and causes the spyder to break down internally alot quicker than if care is taken.

Please take this advice, your E-99 will last loads longer than oil in the air inlet method.

Read the instructions and familarise yourself with the way you take out the bolt and striker assembly. Then when you can dis-assemble and re-assemble the bolt and striker its time to do some oiling. If you haven't got any marker oil yet get some Gold Cup Marker Oil. Its well worth getting the large tub and its good value for money. Basically you need to put a few drops of oil on the bolt and striker and smear it around on the metal surface and also rub it round the o-ring, also known as seals on both striker and bolt. Please do not flood the seals as they will expand and cause problems and need replacement.

Please e-mail me on chris.white85@btinternet.com if you have ANY queries on your spyder and how to do the maintenance required. People think its a pushover but to keep a spyder sweet it needs some extra care. Mine has been running fine for 3 years (Spyder Xtra) and using these techniques have only ever replaced 2 seals on the bolt and 1. on striker... the parts that move the most.

Laterz.

Sorry dude, i dont find my advice on oiling to be crap. I done it to my spyder flash, which is very similar. And NEVER had any problems with it. The pressure it was also working at was 600psi and again had no problems with that either. I agree abit of oil down the bolt chamber is good for the bolt, but putting oil in the air inlet regulates oil around into the gun.
So please next time keep your remarks to yourself.
Thank you :)

Also, if you are using co2 make sure you have a scython filter. Or try to get away from using co2 as it can damage the electronics.
