With the debate now well under way on who will/should/or could play in the EXL in '04, why as has been previously mentioned let all the eligible teams compete for the available places at the first Millenium event of '04.

The pro league for '04 could take the format of the Champions league, but instead of having the group stage first you have a double eliminator KO round. This could determine the final 8/10 for '04.

You could also offer teams that win the Div 1 events at the Millenium events (4/8 I believe) the option of a wildcard entry for the KO round for the 05 season.

Alternatively, for 05' maybe we could see National XBall leagues, of say 6/8 teams. in the major European countries, with the top 2 teams from each nation going forward to the ko round.

I feel that all teams should have a fair chance of competeing in this new league, and don't envy the guys who make the decisions.

These are just a few ideas.

I think that the idea of having all eligible teams compete for the exl is a good idea. People wish to play the EXL but may not get a chance because they aren't eligible.

Not being a football fan and not being down with that analogy i aint got a clue

The major X-ball leagues in each country is a good idea but i can forsee a few problems with it. Each country would have to buy the franchise of X-ball and the rights to use the name to stage the tourney. Also in the major european countries there are not enough teams who could buy into that franchise which would kill the idea. Would tournament organisers in each country get together to do this? who knows.

Some good ideas but perhaps too idelogical to work. Just my opinion.
