I have used JT Flex8 or Proflex masks for a while and recently need a new mask so I bought the new JT Status mask for £55 online.
There are couple of things not mentioned on the box or on the website I'd like to point out to anyone who is thinking of buying one.
Firstly, It's weight.
It seems a lot heavier than the Flex8. A lot of the weight is in the faceguard so there's the feeling that its always being pulled down your face.
Secondly, It's size.
Unless you have a big head it won't fit. The soft ears are too large, they reach round almost to the back of your head. As they're fitted to the strap there is a limited amount of adjustment space, So I can't pull the strap tight enough past the soft ears.
Now incase you think I'm a small headed 12 year old I will have to point out I'm an average sized almost 40 year old who has worn JT masks all the time I've played paintball.
A point for the fashion concious, what you buy is what you get. There is no changing faceplates anymore, this is a one piece design. The visor comes off and as usual is a bit flimsey and bendy
It does have quick lenses releases and soft squidgy faceguard bits but i'm not sure that they are all that useful.
For me I will be going back to the older Flex8 range, unless you have to have JTs and desperately need to change your lenses in 30 seconds I wouldn't go for these.
