Are they craking in the middle at the bottom? I've had three in the past two months do just that im by JT IZE. Maybe it's just a dodgy batch?

I've not had much trouble before now.

They both use the same lens.It mite be that becuz the proteus frame & other parts are more rigid/not as flexible as the flex 7/spectra so the shock of the impact from a paintball is forced more on to the lens than the other parts from the shock wave of the impacted paintball unlike the flex 7/spectra.
Im sure u get the jist of it-excuse my posts for a short time ive had lots to drink.:)

jt proteus

ash you muppet..lol...

yes the lenses are the same in both proteus and flexes, its the holding frame that is at question here.....!!!!!!
the proteus are not as rigid as my friend styles mugger has pointed out........
the lenses are cracking from center top and bottom and meeting in the middle.......
the problem here is safety if say some one has not noticed the hair line cracks it possibly could have potentially dangerous efects on someones eyesite(ie your mugged at close range and hit in lenses and they shatter in your eyes....or worse still they dont stop the ball....
surely this is either a flaw in the manufacture of the frame (ie the rigidity of the frame) or perhaps a cunning way to sell more lenses??????
hmmmmm food for thought.....
perhaps jt will bring some ultra high tech expensive modification out to sort this problem out.......
i will also add that my past jt products have always been of a good standard...but surely they should look into this problem and rectify....
thankyou

If this is the case then you should contact JT immediately
This is a major safety issue and I would not like to think that my proteus is going to fail me.
Mine seem okay but i have only just changed the lens

Weren't the Proteus recalled a while ago because the plastic on the ear guards could crack?

I think Kris is right - it may be another design fault that hadn't occurred until the masks have been used for a while.

For what it's worth I have a set of nForcers which use the Spectra lens too and I haven't has any problems. I use the gradients rather than the prism though.
