I am having real trouble with my jt mask, my old lense has bought it as far as i am concerned, it has no visible marks on it but it is old.

My worry is my inability to put new lenses in without touching them too much, and without excruicating pain... Does anyone have any tips for doing this, i have dredged the search engines and found zip, and my manual has gone for walkies.

(It took me like half an hour to an hour to get it in the last time i tried, and i am worried either the frame or lens is warped as the black line is not flush on the edge of the frame on one side...)

when you buy your new lens, there will be the guide as what you got with your goggles.

You do have to be abit 'brutal' with the goggle frame for obvious safety reasons so dont worry about it too much. It sounds like you were forcing the thermal inner lens alittle too much, you want to use the outer single lens as leverage.

I take it youve taken the goggle frame off the faceplate/ear armour? If not, do this first.

The simplist way I've found to replace JT lens (assuming yours are Spectras) is to get remove the top middle peg then work your way around one way. When you put then back together put the two nose bits in first and work around symetrically, leaving the top middle peg last.

If all else fails, ask a marshall :p

A little messy but once you have removed your "old" lenses take the frame and run under the hot tap, it softens up nicely to allow you to get the new lens in well easy...ok you can't do this at the field but it works

I was at an event Sunday, in a short rest period i changed the lenses the quickest i had ever done. I had just tried to clean the lense but i saw scratches appearing and getting longer so decided to replace them. Because they had the anti-fog substance on it made the frame extremley pliable, the old lenses come straight out and the new lenses went in just as easy. It was the quickest i had changed my lenses in around 2mins 30.

Lucky for me as the next game was soon, but i never stopped to realise how quick they actually did change. I do not put this down the the goggles becoming stretchable, as they have had the lenses changed only once before.

Its basically just lubricating those lense securing pegs with water etc, so they slip around inside the lense frame.

Give it a try, dont use tools etc, against the lense for risk of scratches and so on.

:)

Thanks, i had only really taken the visor off and the bottom armour, leaving it hanging from the still connected side armour, i will try what you all say.

Many thanks...
