the experimental fields

Nick,
What did you think of the fields with no or minimal back bunkers? How did they play and what is your take on what the teams thought about them?
Given our past "conversation" on this sort of modification and a more extreme variant or two :) I'm curious to know how it turned out.

all i can say is quite a good tourny, expensive country, played overall at least 1 hour . Now just as an after thought here what do you think the main paint sponsors thought of this tourny we ourselves only shot 8 boxes of paint the whole tourny instead of the usual 28 boxes, at this rate do you still think they will sponsor teams . Also the nbk (tomahawk field ) how come players were pulled on bounces pulled when they slid into a barricade that was pegged down with a 2" peg (i kid you not) then also pulled for aggresive play and 1 for 1nd because of a 2" peg . now was this because of norwegian marshalls or the norwegian novice team we were playing, mmmh no bias there then

Also on Raven field at least one player (yep, that would be me) was eliminated for a bounce.

Direct quote from Millennium rules (10.21.):

"If the paintball strikes a player or anything he is wearing or carrying but does not break and leave a mark, such a player is not eliminated."

...thought so, I was right even though everyone told me (including reffs and Raven -fields Head Marshall) that the ball doesn't have to break when a judge sees you being hit. :-]

Anyway, nice tourney, LOVED the fields and weather was great. Thanks to everyone! Hopefully seeing you next year too.

Joy Rules!

Good comments as usual, Nick. I regret that I didn't get a chance to shake hands with you at the tourney, even though I reffed you guys 3 times, and after all the times we've crossed paths on the Net.

I want to join in on the praise of Magued for continuing to trump previous successes. Bold move, Magued, to dare to be different with your fields. I only remember one game on our (Diablo) field that went the full 10 minutes.

We, the crew, busted our arses from sunup to sundown for a week to make this happen. Couldn't have happened without some key people: Kimbo, Stefan, Gurra, Calle and many more. Thanks for making it possible and making it fun.

I also want to thank the Ironmen for the fun, laughs, paintball tips and great job on the Diablo fields. I learned a lot from them and they got the inside scoop on Silja Lines. Great to be an Ironman for the weekend (I still haven't seen FedEx yet with my sponsorship package. Could you guys check on that? Looking forward to my melty Matrix!).

Kevin, why don't you go ahead and move here, dude. You already speak Swedish (the most important phrases anyway and great pronunciation.)

Brian, Matt and Micah of the Ironmen provided an excellent paintball training clinic here in Stockholm the Sunday before the tournament. The theoretical with questions and answers (between barfs) was the best part. Everyone I talked to highly praised the training. We couldn't help but think that DMZ's victory over Russian Legion and Cocodrilos over Ugly Ducklings might have been at least partially attributable to the training.

Thanks to John, Bart, Stine, Oleg, Carly and Matt of WDP for the opportunity to work with them on Sunday and Monday. You guys are truly facilitators!

True Colors, you know where you stand in my book. Fett med respect!

Thanks to Alvaro, Geoff, Laurent and Moose for advice and support. Millennium rules!

Let's continue to make a great league even better!

Check it!
