Just got news earlier that Joe Strummer died yesterday, apparently from a heart attack.
to those youngsters who don't know who he is, he was the guitarist in the Clash. i think its safe to say that the clash were one of the most influential punk banks and helped mould the genre.
he was a very talented guy and will be missed, now hes off to the big 'ol gig in the sky.

i know it ain't paintball related, but i recon quite a few ppl here like music that was influenced by this guy and the Clash.

One of the single most influential people in my life>

Joe Moved to the West Country a few years back and being a muso myself I met him a few times. Absolute gentlemen. Not interested in chasing the buck as many before him did.

London Calling remains one of my fave albums of all time and i feel like i did 22 years ago when a certain John Winston Lennon shuufled off this mortal coil..... I am numb.

Don't get wrapped up in all the Bull that will surround this. Get out White man in Hammersmith Palais Turn up the volume and Smile!!!!

As a long-time fan of the Clash, I still use some of their songs for my pre-game music.... London Calling, Lost in the Supermarket, Guns.... sigh this is really sad news :(

Never actually liked the "London Calling" album that much but you had to admire the chaotic enthusiasm of the live gigs. And let's face it, a person in the music biz refusing to cash in and sell out their principles - how many of those are left now?

Sad loss and a woefully young age to bow out at.
