I would like to thank each and every one of my members and of course my hard working moderators for being a part of our beloved paintball website.
Believe it or not, this site reaches deep into the hearts and minds of event players in the UK, Europe and the US .... it is looked upon as the source of reasonable commentary and is not seen as a mouthpiece for some particular company or organisation.
Some people may see this site as my mouthpiece and subsequently see this as grounds for criticism, they may be right but I tell ya something, I ain't in nobody's pocket and so you will always hear balanced opinions regarding our sport and industry .. it's not gonna be skewed just because this person or that is an advertiser with me ......
I wanna wish all of you and your families the very best for Christmas and the new year.
Our sport has had it pretty hard over these past few years with politics and bad feeling playing its part in the way we run our leagues etc ..... I don't think we will ever rid ourselves of 'politics' all the time promoters are allowed to focus on just how much money they can rake in and the whole ethos of customer satisfaction and value for money are put on the back burner while the money is stuffed into back-pockets and purses ...
All you guys can do as players/teams is vote with your entry money ..... we have a pretty good selection of tournament series next year and it's obvious the CPPS and NSPL dominate [and will continue to do so] the UK scene ... and rightly so!
Those two leagues represent all that is good in event promotion and standards of operation ...
they are of course, closely linked with the new federation and I promise you this much ... the Federation, for good or for bad, is made up of some fine-spirited people; guys like Ledz and Steve Bull [and many others] who continue to work tirelessly for your cause .. please guys, support them in what they are trying to do.
They sure as hell ain't doing it for money ... I would say this Federation has cost all of them hundreds if not thousands of pounds already .. I kid you not.
I'm probably, no definitley, the smallest business represented on that Fed board and I know it's cost me over a grand so far in petrol, time rented rooms etc ... and I am unable to offer things like paint for our event's prize packages ... that must have cost the guys on the Fed thousands of pounds.
I can only admire their resolve to keep on trying to organise and stimulate growth around our tournaments.
Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all my p8ntballer.com members ... it's you guys who make this site tick, you are the heartbeat of UK and European paintball, thank-you for everything.
Pete
