As someone associated with the organisation of this game I can only apologise yet again for our failure to provide you, the players, with the air supply you have come to expect at our games. We can only blame other people for so much but at the end of the day the buck stops with us!!
As was announced yesterday at the game, we intended to refund £5 to everyone who had entered. It was then suggested by numerous players that we should keep the money and donate it to charity and this is what we will do. The two charities that will benefit will be Help For Hereos (Helps injured service personnel) and Check Em Lads (Raises awareness of Testicular Cancer).
However, anybody that does want their money back please contact me or Eddie (neff) and we will endeavour to get a cheque to you asap.
We will also be offering a £10 discount on next year’s game fee if you played this year. We obviously have your details on file so we will cross reference with next years bookings to ensure your game fee is reduced.
If, however, you want to combine your £5 refund and your £10 discount you can do and receive a £15 discount off of next year’s fee. Again please contact me or Eddie directly and we will take your details now and keep you on file for next year.
Trust us when we say we will be ensuring that this issue will be completely resolved at next years game!!
Now on to the good bits (there were some!!)
Tim and Rich did an excellent job with some highly skilled subordinates and plenty of willing players. As ever an outstanding standard of play by all the players in attendance and a high level of sportsmanship throughout – well done to you all!
Tim, sorry we couldn’t send you off with a win (I’ll see what I can do about Okie!) but congratulations to Rich and the Argies if for nothing else than looking extremely camp with all those ’taches about!
Despite the obvious problems the more vocal grumbles were actually few and far between and we thank you for perseverance and understanding. The kind words that were expressed yesterday and on here make all the difference. Scenario players truly are some of the best people you’ll ever meet in you lifetime!
Having Pinki, Jack and Glen playing alongside the Geese is always a pleasure but having them in the safe zone is really where you want them, an absolute scream!! (and yes you will get Smack Talk Ridge next year!). Cheers guys.
To Paul, Thomas, Neil and the rest of the BZ crew thanks as ever for your support and generous donations.
To all the staff at Skirmish thank you for your support and tireless hard work.
To the rest of the Geese for their efforts and support, both on and off the field, my deepest gratitude.
Plans for next year are already a foot with at least 2 game ideas being worked on and either will see mayhem and carnage on a grand scale. Be prepared for some teasers throughout the forthcoming year! (We even have a date in mind!).
Whatever we bring to you for 2009 we will rectify the problems of this year, improve where we can and make sure you have a good day out. Again, my sincerest apologies.
