Is it safe to tighten your reg

Was playing this weekend and my reg unscrewed from the bottle, obviously its vented the air. Ive been playing for a couple of years and its never happened before, people were telling me its common and to just tighten it up with a vice, is it safe? Thanks. X

Don't use a vice, use a cloth and a strap wrench if you feel the need to tighten it up further than hand tight. Replace the o-ring with a new one. Don't use any sealants or joining compounds.

TBH the pressure of air in the system should prevent it from unscrewing.

As in you wouldnt tighten your bottle reg by hand? I do have the strength of 10 bears though i must add... X

Who other than maybe the manufacturers, have the rig to hold the reg and the ability to attach a torque wrench?

Personally, I'd rather have it under torqued than over torqued with the risk of stress and damage to either the regulator or bottle neck threads!
