currently running on air from a dive tank but come the warmer weather will be switching to nitrox( 32% enriched oxygen) for scuba use

just wondering if its still ok to run markers on this or wether anyone can forsee any problems

cheers guys

yea but was'nt thinking of using my marker as a flame thrower :)

think 32% is too low to actually combust otherwise there may be a question mark over using it in diving

could be wrong though

Or any Petroleum derivative. eg.Vaseline, grease, oil
"....then you open the valve, like thi...BOOOM!!!!!!!!!...Bugger, wheres me legs gone?"
Gaz:D
Would probably just burn real well, not blow up. Still, not good tho.
I would say no, dont use it. Nitrogen yes but Nitrox (similar to Nitrous Oxide or the same I assume) sounds a little combustable.

nitrox, what are you talking about man, nitrousOXIDE is a compound of oxygen and nitrogen, not a mix. nitrous oxide is nox, and that burns big time.

oxygen will also NOT burn on it's own, it just makes anything that's already burning around it to burn a lot better, caus it's whatever material combining with oxygen that is buring (hope i'm still making sense)

most guns are made from aluminium, and that doesn't corrode (well it does, but as soon as it starts it stops) stainless steel also doesn't corrode, hence it being stainless.

NitrOx is a common gas system used for deep diving. It is NOX an oxide (sorry couldn't help it :)).

Hartley: I wouldn't recommend it. Did you know that there's been a "combustion" incident over at SC, due to someone using oil on their check valve (it was probably leaking) and then going to get a fill, got a quick fill, and then poof...nothing bad happened except that the fill guy said the tank's now unfit for use until it's retested. They didn't even know what exactly happened but figured it out by the heat and discoloration. Just think if you added an extra bit of oxygen...let's see, what's that triad: oxygen + fuel + heat (a fast fill).

sorry probably did'nt make myself clear

as ray correctly says, nitrox is a gas system used for deep diving when incresed amounts of oxygen are used to counteract the effects of nitrogen narcosis which occur at depth

as im diving most of the summer, was thinking of usung my tank to fill my marker as well but as commen consensus seems to be this would be bad think ill be wise and just steal someone elses air

thanks guys
