I've been playing tournaments pretty steady for the past few years. Yesterday, I got a call from a buddy who wants to enter a local three-man and asked me to play with him and another guy. Suddenly I'm playing this weekend and I can feel the pre-tournament anticipation building already.

Every time I think about an upcoming tournament, I get butterflies (that nervous/quesy stomach feeling). Not just at the 10 second mark, but from the last practice right up until that first game. I start going over mental checklists, picturing moves in my head, etc., and the whole time I can feel the adrenalin starting to flow and the nerves building.

So now I'm playing this weekend, and it made me wonder:

Does anyone else still get this before a tournament?

Yep! I do.

Also in one of the traumahead vids (can't remember which) there was an interview with Lasoya, and he mentioned that he still gets that feeling before a game.

I actually physically can't eat the night before or the morning of a tourney. the solution I've found is just to try and eat sweets!

And I'm still going over the things I ****ed up in my last tournament which was nearly three weeks ago

Thankfully, paintball doesn't distract me from my studies too much any more, but then again, its hard to be distracted by small numbers of people shooting at each other when you study large numbers of people shooting at each other. But the rush and anticipation with tournaments is even better the buzz from skydiving, which diminishes each time you do it. With paintball, it always seems to be there.

Yeah i know what you mean......

I get the butter flys the night before. We even have a guy on our team (monkey) who throws up before the first game.
