Is a PS3 worth the money

Just a quick question for ps3 owners. I already have an xbox 360 which i love but because of an unfortunate accident to my laptop i have had to claim on my house insurance i am thinking when i get the cheque i get a cheaper laptop and a ps3 or blue ray player. Is the ps3's blue ray player any good?

Yes, works well, i have a samsung blueray player in my spare room and there is no noticable differences between the two, but worth getting a seperate remote control rather than useing the ps3 pad.
