the iphone dev team have cracked the iphones modem firmware, released 31st dec so no more tied contracts to 02....... its free too....... bonus

soo do u hav to buy a iphone with O2 and then cancel it, then unlock it, or can u buy 1 with orenge for example?

u buy an iphone from o2 dont register it with itunes and stick ur new sim in, however doing this removes some of the things u can do with it

buy on pay as you go, jailbreak the phone with quickpwn, update via cydia(on the handset) on the 31st easy as that.... just dont update to the apple 2.2 firmware via itunes or you cant unlock it at all.

or buy one off fleabay already jailbroke and update on the 31st via cydia (cydia is an app on the handset, same as installer and allows you to add any of the 1000's of applications on the handset, that apple wont let you if you dont jailbreak it...

you can use all of the features thats the point.... it just means you dont have to have a second contract with o2 use your existing contract
