I'm looking to buy either an Ion or a PMR, but unsure as to which one is the better marker. Please could you give your views and opinions as to which one I should go for?

Thanks Joel :)

Hmmm...

Well...both are spool valve guns.

Both have plastic and or low grade parts, that are there to be upgraded as your pocket and inclination allows.

Ion is significantly cheaper than the PMR...buy about £100.

However...Proto, I would say, would give you a better gun for your £250...and you can upgrade teh few plastic parts easily enough...also, teh whole body of teh PMR is aluminium, unlike teh ION.

Have a look at some and see what you think.

PMR would probably be softer on paint.

Or...you could use your £250 to buya secondhand ego...which would pi$$ all over bothe the Ion and the PMR

i'd have to agree with skeet if your choosing between the ion or pmr then the extra £100 is definatly worth it ;) we have 2 as our teams spare markers the only thing thats plastic on them is the stock trigger but the upgrade trigger is all metal and uncapped ramping    OMG you can release a whole fury of paint :p however if you have got the money to spend it is definatly worth buying a second hand ego :D

Pmr is much better than the ion

Better on paint. The parts that are plasic, can be changed with aluminum parts.
That are on sale from dye/proto dealers.

Easy to maintain. light weight. Reliable.

Even tho its £100 differance, The Pmr is the best low priced gun there is.:)

pmr trigger and backcap change them yes if you feel the need

but the polymer grip frame is stronger and lighter than metal and very comfy to use (on the geek side its the same polymer they use to made glock pistols with )

also the pmr is the lightest dye gun ever made
didnt get on with it myself but thats not knocking the gun just wasnt for me

also comes with the same board as the pm7 with all the modes

so if your after a small neat little package that will perform well pmr is for you

Forgot to say dye uk after sales is 2nd to none any problems you get they will sort normaly within days
