try using you ion for abit first, then see what you dont like about it,but tbh you will prob be best to put an on/off on it as the stock part is a real pain to screw the air on and off, after that most people go for changing the feedneck but this is all down to personal choice as in know a guy who put his stock feedneck back on as he liked it better that a q-lock,the most upgrades people seem to go for after that are barrels/barrel kits, triggers then you could always go down the route of changing internal parts such as bolts adding qevs even new boards, but all this is really down to if you dont like stock parts cos even with only a few upgrades such as feedneck,on/off and barrel the ion can quite easy keep up with most markers out the on the field and has no peoblem shooting up to the legal 15bps.

it depends what u like really. try them both before you make your decision.

I own an ion and my old housemate shoots a promaster. I've had a go on his and i have to say they are nice but just not for me. As for my ion, well i've done a lot of work to get it how i like it... But half the fun is modding it up, making it personal to you.

couldnt say:confused: never shoot one ,if you know some1 who has one why not try it and see if you like it better than an ion cos you might not like it,you might like it better so its best to try out if you can as you willl always find that there are some markers that you will just not like the feel of,hope this helps.

I'm a country member!
Std feedneck is poor, std barrel is poor, std trigger is poor, I would forget the SP Q-Lock, still won't take an unsanded halo/empire, go for a CP clamping feed neck, almost any barrel kit is good, though the Freak is not as great as an Evil Pipe set or similar, Stiffis are a bit delicate! A CP Roller Trigger is an almost must have upgrade for an Ion.

Get rid of the duckbill and put a decent on/off on it, will save you grief/blown O-rings and a better setup.

If then you don't want to change your marker then look at a board upgrade, really I would steer clear of cosmetic things like bodies etc as they usually add weight, edges to catch paint on and no performance iat all. Sticky grips and a decent fore grip/inline is where I would stop. For the record I dont have and have never had an Ion, but have fixed them for mates and seen them spend loads on them to no advantage, and then buy a better setup!
