OK here's my problem, was stripping down my ION XE to the bone the other night, and accidently snapped part of the mode button off, now when I connect a battery to the ION when you push the power button the light goes green and flashes a couple of times the just fades out!

Any Ideas how to fix the problem,

I've tried 3 different Duracell Batteries, which are brand new and have been tested in my brothers ION and they all work fine!

Any ideas guys/gals?

Thanks in advanced

You may have done more than just damage the mode button.
Can you do a photo of the damaged area, so we can help you further.

Ion board problems

ok, well since I have broke it, I thought it might be the switch, so as you can see in the photo below, i've removed the switch and replaced it with a virtue switch, all still looks to be working like it was before (same symptons) so i'm not thinking it's something else?

Also I Forgot to mention, when it fades out it won't turn back on again until you disconnect the batt for about 2 - 5 sec's, then it repeats the process when you turn it on again.

btw, thanks for the quick response!

Sorry for the delay in replying.
You say you have soldered a virtue switch on?? Is that the one that turns it on and changes whether the eyes are on or off?
If it is, where have you soldered it to?? The top switch (tubes end) or to where the bottom switch was (near the trigger switch)

I'm not sure which one it is? I got it from someone off the forum, when trying to test it, there are 2 button on the switch, and three wires, now I followed this tut for soldering, if you look in the pic that I have posted you can see two of the wires that are connected where the mode button used to be.

Bearing in mind that before I tried soldering the switch I had the same problem, I thought that it would fix the problem but it hasn't made any difference.

Thanks

Richard

Same thing happened to me and the button came off, i can just about press it to change stuff but mine still works fine, did yours have like a metal casing round the side of it? Because i pushed that back a bit because it was starting to come off and its easier to change modes now
