been looking at various pictures but for the life of me cant work out the answer.

does the ion being a one tube desighn mean that when you shooting you less of a target than sat a 2tube desighn such as a dm or cocker??

Yes....
The Ion and the Shocker are not as tall as markers such as the Intimidator, Ego, 'cocker, Matrix etc.

The compact nature of the Ion and Shocker are about the only reason I have for being intrested in owning either.

Because a spool valve marker only needs a single tube (although the tubing is a bigger bore) unlike ram/hammer operated markers which require a minimum of 2

its a shame as the DM Could have been even smaller, but in all honesty wev'e now seen it in the Proto matrix

The older matrixs had the battery in the body and theres not much room in the gripframe for a battery either so i think we can justify the size.

The shocker is even smaller because SP have done their usual trick of cutting corners and not providing an LPR( on the proto its at the front under the barrell and the DM on the back below the bolt- both internal obviously increasing size) - nice of them isn't it
