Im new to paintballing and i dont really know my stuff but i need some help. Im looking for a qev for my ion and im torn between the sp qev 360 and the virtue (both on just paintball). I was reading on the ionowners website and they seem to think it would be best to stick to the sp one. I just really want to know if anyone has used either of these and is there really any difference between them apart from the colour.

There is almost no difference between the QEVs. The 360 is easier to install, but less reliable. The virtue one is actually made by clippard who are a real pneumatics company. Its a bit hit and miss to install, if the threads dont line up you need to space it out with orings or a gasket.

However, alot of people, me included would advise you not to put a QEV on your Ion.
It increases the force and speed of the bolt which makes it harder on paint and wears out its orings quicker.

Qev

John C and I had a lot of open discussion regarding the QEV and it's effect on paint.

What John C normally would put is.... why do you want a QEV?

Efficiency or becuase everyone says you should get one?

I would think about the other up's you could get for an Ion such as a new firing bolt, firing can and donut. These will help with your efficiency.

However if you must.. get an SP 360 QEV. And then get an SP firebolt to soften the impact on the paint, oh and to make your Ion yet more efficient.

Hope helpful.
