The QEV, or "Quick Exhaust Valve", vents excess gas infront of the bolt, that was formerly used to cock the bolt back.
By doing this, the bolt can cycle much faster. This modification alone means the gun can cycle at 26 balls per second, should your board allow.
The best board in my opinion would be the Virtue board as they are unlimited as far as ROF, have more modes for your money and are very easy to program.

the other major board on the market that competes with the virtue is the t board, its cheaper and very similar but would have to be ordered from the states, although i havent had experience with either of the two personally

i have the T-Board and i like it - it's quite easy to use and setup. the only problem is that demand outstrips production and you might be waiting a while for one

the best thing about the T-Board is that Damon will do lifetime flashing on the board - just send it to him and he'll put the latest code on there - the latest version will go upto 50BPS (not that you'll ever use it) and an Ego style training mode (it keeps the dwell so low that the marker doesn't fully cycle - but gives you an indication on how fast it's going without using too much air or producing excessive noise

he be the creater of teh t-baord, i dont no to much about him/the Tboard but i think he is basically a independant creater and the tboard is not made by a big company so that why it is very popular and he gets alot of respect for it. mainly because of the great customer service and i think he will also fit and set it up for you if you send him your gun but it would be a waist of money to send it to the states just for that.

There's realy nothing to worry about mate - if you've ever fully dissasemled ure ion. All there is to installing the QEV is removing one of the banjo fittings and screwing the QEV into it's place. If your still unsure - find the 'Ion Dissasembly Vid' on PbNation. It's not bad.

As for boards, I've heard good things about the t-board recently what with the proposed 'training mode'. But as far as i'm aware it's not been initiated yet.

I've personally used the Blackheart board and love it, every in game option you'll ever need and the fantastic chirping 'cricket' style sound is great! So you know when ure changing settings, or turning the gat/eyes on/off.
