Well trying to use my gun today at the inter-university competition. Used the gun during the week and was working perfectly.

Started firing my gun and the first few shots had major drop off's, wouldnt even fire.

Then i noticed it was double feeding, and 2/3 balls were coming out everytime i fired now and then (yes it was on semi auto)

Just wondering if this is:

1. Drop off due to low dwell? put it up quite high and didnt change

2. Changed battery in gun and hopper, didn't help.

3. Detents gone? hence the double feeding.

any ideas would be appreciated.

Could you tell us a bit more info?

like are you running it hogh or low pressure?

Whats your input pressure?

have you checked the detents?

Have you checked the eyes? and do they work?

also is it a stock or upped board?

just take the plastic body off and poke the detents through a bit, your dwel should be set at about 52 milliseconds at an input psi of about 170.
the ion detents are really chunky, unless you'v put a considerable amount of paint through it its unlikely that they are worn out.

Was it cold when u played?

if it was chances are you just had bolt stick which was causing the marker to half cycle which was loading your barrel with balls and occasionally it would fully cycle and shoot them all out.

Michael, from your previous postings I suspect you know most of this but...

FSDO >

Battery (only use new duracells)
Dwell too low
Bolt stick from incorrect lube

Double feeding > detents

stock ones are made out of butter and will go quickly, particularly with lots of dry firing

Ollgeeze, it's not 52 ms, it's 52 blinks - each blink is 0.25 ms above a base rate that excapes me off the top of my head (3ms or is that shockers?)

Khanzo, Kila detents are very good (I havce some) but aren't compatible with all aftermarket bolts

Frontmandan, quite possible - not a half-cycle but I know what you mean

Mikey601, the version of board won't make any difference..?

Ok just to update, thought id rule out the cold factor. I didnt change / touch a thing since the other day.

Took the gun out in the garden, its firing fine and cycling fine now. no drop offs (even the first shot) and no double feed at all even when on ramping...

so it looks like the cold factor won the award, will put the hot water bottle in the bag aswell next time.

thanks for info guys.
