Ion power / eye button mod

ok guys this is going to be my first mod on the ion! i really dont like the look of the membrane button jobby that slides through the grip i think it looks cheap and tacky! so im going to drill my frame and fit two little buttons and the membrane pad on the inside of my ion! there is just enough room between the battery and the inside wall of the frame. is there any difference between the virtue membrane pad and the dm3/4/5 membrane pad? as soon as i know that i will do my mod then put the plans up if it fails i will scream, cry, and stamp my foot!

The virtue is harder wearing than the stock one i think. Its also made by hybrid so it will be more expensive and cool.

If your going to fit it on the inside you may need o make a small 'frame' (cant think of a better word) so the membrane is held away from the frame so it doesn't turn your marker off if it gets shaken.

yeah i had a little think about that earlier! im doing the initial designs at the moment but once i have it completed and working i will post all the plans ad let you all try it out! let me wreck my ion first! oh and yeah throwing my toys out of the pram hell yeah!!

lol dammit yeah i am! oh well i will let you all know how it goes! i didnt see the link before! i have thought about this ever since i saw the membrane pads but it looks like someone has already beaten me to it! oh well either way i will take my step by step pics n stuff! cheers for the link buddy you have just saved me a lot of work in planning!

actually on reading through no im not doing this exact mod, what im going to do is have the membrane pad on the inside of the marker and two switches protruding from the holes! basically its going to have the power and eye on/off buttons on the back of the markers grip! i just dont like the membrane pads i think they look cheap and naff! im on a complete ion custom mission! as soon as my new body kit comes through my old ion bodykit is going to be built up and customised completely! i will show you all everything that is going on in my crazy mind as soon as it is done!

lol yeah! if you have seen the buttons and the inside of the frame on the pmr thats pretty much what i am going to do and the frame to hold the pad on the inside will attatch itself to the battery! its not going to be a hard mod but its going to make the ion that little bit more stylish.
