If you can solder then get yourself a new on/off button for about 50p and fix your board. Even if you do upgrade you have a spare working board you can either have as a backup or sell.
We are starting to get into the rainy season now, (not that it really ever went away), and Ion boards are notorious for popping if they get wet. Having a spare in your tool box is not a bad thing. I always did!
If you do upgrade, I would recomend moving away from smart parts as other than a few additional modes it is essentially the same kit. I know cos I fell into the same trap. I went from stock to blackheart, then to lucky spitfire. I noticed a little bit of difference with the blackheart, but when I got the lucky board I wondered why I spent the money on the blackheart at all!!
Not meaning to p!ss on the bonfire of all blackheart owners, just offering my opinion, thats all.
