my mate runs one in his sp8 and it gives no kick, as well as dropping the dwell and input pressure.

Yep I had one in my ion, very easy to install despite how the online instructions look, hehe. I installed mine at the same time as a SP QEV and my dwell was stable at 17 - nice and efficient. As for the whole "kick" thing, I never really noticed it in the first place tbh, although I don't doubt that it helps.
