Hi there, I was hoping someone could help me with my ion. First I'll give you it's spec:
Ego 05 reg
virtue board
firebolt
qev
SP srail and on/off
No other mod that changes performance. Now, the problem. When its all ready to shoot, i turn eyes off and it rattles through the air perfectly, firing perfectly with the bolt cycling perfectly with no leaks etc. However, when I put paint through it, whether eyes are on or off, it will fire a few balls then it will make a pffft sound like theres no air then fire it again and it will fire then eventually it just wont fire at all, just keeps making a pfft sound. I then discovered that when this happens, the bolt is not going back far enough. It only moves far enough back to load a new ball every other shot. Oddly, whenever i fire really quick, it works ok but if i try to fire semi, it screws up again.

Now to tell you what it's not. Its not due to lack of lube, i took the thing apart and lubed everything. Its not the battery either cus i changed it 3 times and got the same thing. PLEASE HELP! This gun cost me a lot of money and up to this point worked perfectly. Thanks in advance

Have you tried resetting the dwell?

Could also be a dodgy QEV if you have the original banjo fitting try putting that back in.

Have you checked out any of the Ion 101 tech threads and help pages (see the techroom section) ???

Just that Marcus Geezer on here had a very similar sort of problem on his ion many moons ago, we tried everything, batteries, resetting the dwell, cleaning, lubing the marker and reg, in the end it turned out to be a dodgy qev, once this was replaced and the marker set back up again it was fine.

see if you can lay your hands on a banjo fitting to test it with before you shell out on a new QEV

i had the same problem with mine when i had an ion , and found out it was a crapy seal on the hose to the rear banjo not giving it enuf pressure to move fuly forward at enought speed and so just jams the ball in the detents
so try changint the hose from the noid to the rear banjo

cycle the marker with the top half not in the body, ie, all connected up but opened out, find where its going wrong... say i dodgy thread in the body... not like you broke the fireing can or any thing :p:p:p ;)
