Sorry if this has been posted before, but I have searched and haven't found anything.
Been having some probs with the eyes on my Ion recently always reporting a ball in the breech... So I stripped it and cleaned the eyes, no dice. Even when I unplug the eyes, it still reports as if the eyes were attached and the beam is being broken.
Soo.... I replaced the wire that connects the C-board to the main board, same thing. So I ordered some new eyes from the internet (Lucky ones) and when I got it through I find I still have the same problem... The lucky eyes are lighting up on one side (which I assume is normal) so I can see there is at least power getting to them... So I was still having the same problem, which makes me think it's the main trigger/solenoid board.
Soo... I used a friend's spare Lucky stage 4 Spitfire board and plugged it in with the new eyes and wire... and to my disbelief the LED on the new board is green when I switch on (indicating a ball in the breech) and then turns yellow when I press the trigger (which i think indicates an eye error of some kind accoring to the manual).
I have checked the new wire with a multimeter and it seems that all 4 links are working and not broken.
I have also replaced the battery with a new one (energizer ultra), and yes the gap in my breech is free from paint/obstructions. The same thing happens when the eyes aren't even in the gun itself.
Now of course there is something very strange when a problem persists even when you have replaced all of the possible offending parts, so now I am a bit stuck what to do. I am not so familiar with this Lucky board with spitfire software so not sure what else can be the issue (one thing is when the eyes are switched off - LED = blue - it flashes white every now and again, but the manual doesn't say what that means...)
I was wondering whether anyone has any ideas of what I can try, apart from buying yet another set of eyes?
Thanks in advance!
