hi guys, and gals, i have tried hunting and fiddling all afternoon to sort this..... please help before my head explodes:eek:
the problem is that the bolt stays back, and will not move forward. the board seems to be cycling, and the solenoid is venting out of the bottom, as you would expect.
the armature pin is moving, however my best guess is thar the armature pin is not creating a complete seal at the 3 way?
i have had to resolder a battery wire (pos)
i have done all the usual stuff, battery, o rings, lube etc, noid looks clean, and the ion works with a stock board, i have even tried the stock boards armature pin in the blackheart noid.
Any ideas would be greatfully recieved.
cheers jim.

Max your dwell and reduce your operating pressure.
See if that makes your gun cycle.

If that doesnt work, clean out your solenoid (read up on what to do before hand)

Unfortunately the smart parts noid in the ion is a bit hit and miss.
Sounds like you may have got a bad one.

Sounds to me like its a case of duff battery or the pressure is set too high, if its a standard ION then set the pressure to about 160 PSI (100 more if you have the Epiphany conversion) and fit a new good quality alkaline battery.

Also check the armature is in the correct way round (end with the small dot in it towards the soleniod head), also im guessing the blackheart board has its own small tube fitted that goes to your QEV (or front banjo fitting), I would check this tube and also the QEV/banjo.

And if that fails then it may be that there is no air getting into the firing chamber to push the bolt forward but thats very unlikely as it works with your stock board, anyway hope this helps.

thanks for the response guys, i have tried various settings of pressure and dwell, 3 different batteries (2 straight out of the pack) all energizer.
The armature pin is around the right way, and the noid is clean. I have air out of all 3 hoses when connected.
It just seems that the armature pin is not shutting off the air to the small banjo fitting/ qev
was tempted to give the armature a very light wrap of ptfe but i'd rather see if there is another way first.
Cheers

So your using a QEV? Then advice about dwell and to a lesser extent pressure will not help you.

Wrapping the noid armature in anything will only make things worse and possibly cause irreversible damage.
The noid must be clean as a whilstle inside, no oil grease or anything else.

Have you looked at your QEV and made sure its not blocked up?

Hmm you said earlier it works with the stock board so it cant be that anyway...

Its got to be a dodgy solenoid on the blackheart.
Unfortunately the smart parts solenoid is really hit and miss...

I do think you should re check your QEV. Maybe try another QEV (not just a normal banjo)

The QEV helps take alot of the work away from the solenoid.
When a QEV is stuck, it wont do that. It will work like a regular banjo fitting which may not be sufficient.

Do this all at 100psi input and maximum dwell...
