Ion battery connection

Okay, the black wire has come out of the part that clips on to the battery. (that connects to the blackheart board, same type of connection as the stock board).

I've tried placing the wire back in but the ion still doesn't come on.
My guesses are im going to have to buy a new 9v connection (what the battery clips into) and then im going to have to solder the old one out and put the new one in.

If this is the case, whats the "official" name of this connection (the part that the battery clips into).

If im wrong, any solutions?

Cheers

If the wire is not soldered then thats why it probably wont turn on, you need to go to a maplins or RS store and get a 9v battery connector, they will sell these and are not expensive either.

Desolder the original wires off the board noting where each wire ( colour ) came from and resolder the new one on and let us know if it works or not.

like the man says, I had to do this with one of my ion boards, if you have some basic soldering skills it's pretty easy and shouldn't take more than about 10-15 mins, battery connector from maplin is about 40-50p

you don't need to desolder anything, just cut both the wires coming from your board half way down (or watever length you want) and expose the wire, then attach them to the new 9v battery snap (which you can get from anywhere, they are literally about 5p, maplin will have them) by either twisting them securely together or soldering them, but its not necessary to solder them as there wont be anything pulling hard on it. hope this helps

If you're going to fix this do it properly by replacing the connector and wire and soldering them onto the board, it's easy enough to do, the solution above might be ok if you were mid tourny and just needed to keep running for the day but it's not permanent and would be prone to failure and problems.
