The info may not be entirely accurate, I found the link when I was trying to find out which gen my Mini was. It might be worth getting a second opinion, maybe one of the mods could point you in the right direction

Also, now that I think about it, I'm sure the first gen Minis came in a hard case which they scrapped for the later models, which would indicate that yours is in fact a gen 2 or 3.
