I'm considering purchasing one. I know shockwave would be roughly £30 new so was looking for a price for comparison

If the Tadao board is silly money then i would just get the shockwave board it's a great board and a big improvement over the stock board i had one on an Axe and was really impressed with it for such an inexpensive upgrade.

From looking through the manuals from them both the Tadao has a lot more options and settings/firing modes on top of all of the same benefits as the shockwave.

Thats why im asking about the tadao...if its worth a silly amount more than a shockwave then I wont worry about upgrading and will leave it for the time being. If its around the same price or cheaper it would be silly to turn it down.

I'm not desperate to upgrade the board on the mini. There is nothing wrong with the stock, I only use it for woodsball at the moment so its not an issue. Once my life is organised and im in a static location ill be getting into sup air thoug so a different board would be very handy for that.

But having a board with a million settings, is giving you the option to mess the gun up a million times. Shockwave is a newer board, much cheaper (like £20 something I think) and works perfectly.

Tadao was the first replacement "top end" board from Empire, then the redline, then came the shockwave. The first two, cost when new, about as much as an entire mini does now.

The shockwave was £20 when it was released in the States.

True Bolter... one thing that really put me off was that when you search google for tadao board or anything similar...the majority of results are threads of people ruining the settings and having a lot of problems.

For the time being ill just be leaving my mini with the stock Optimus. I was only going to upgrade as the tadao was available quite cheap (£15). However I figured that the fragile nature of electronics is a very good reason to buy from a retailer directly instead of using the second hand market for them. That way i have some after sales support should i need it.

I'm not starting sup air anytime soon anyway, it was just an item to buy for the future as the price seemed good. First port of call is to get a house and a job sorted once the degree is finished. Thereafter the world is my oyster. For the time being it's just 'punter' days at whatever site is near me at the time.

Thank you for all your help though everyone, it is greatly appreciated. You have helped me avoid a lot of trouble

The tadao board was okay, but needed some tweaking with both dwells in the colder months.

Cannot comment on the newer boards but if your Optimus is fine save your monies for paint.

Have to admit that's half the reason why I didn't buy it...more paint is never a bad idea

Thank you for your input foot. Greatly appreciated.

That's settled forever now then...no tadao. Simply a shockwave when i go get into the more competitive side of PB (y)
