I would also agree with the above poster as the eyes has better customer support and a better brand behind it, also when it comes to shooting both shoot well however the etek is more efficient, comes with a better stock barrel and is a normal marker size however the mini is, as the name suggests tiny, and although this may be good for some for a majority I know they dislike it. And the mini is quieter and takes more maintenance :)
Any other question?

I have shot ther etek 4 for a good month of training, tournie and a scenario. whereas i have only shot the mini for s ew points and a walkon game.

Personally i prefered the etek as it did feel much more like a top end marker, as i have owned way too many ego's i really did find it very very similar.
Where as the mini didn't feel right to me due to the size' this thing is seriously small!! And for comparison i'm not a very big guy, 5'10 and 10 stone so i ain't that big. However i did shoot one which was very well taken care of and had a few internal upgrades (can't remember what) and it did soot well, however i prefer the shot of other guns and as i keep going back to, the feel.

Personally if you are a medium hight guy, or one who likes a normal sized marker a good idea may be to broaden your search andf comparison to incorporate used markers (when classifieds are open to you) as you willget top end performance at mid to low end prices. If you are looking at this i would advise:

-EGO 10- efficency and easy to maintain- expect to pay around £320 atm
-dm12-smooth shooting, reasonably efficent- £380
-older dm's- all are smooth- ask for prices if unsure
-macdev clone gt- personally my gun of choice atm smoothest shooting, sexy, no macro, harder to maintain however- £550
-macdev clone/clone vx- smooth and almost identical internals to gt but cheaper and macro- £300
-Geo 2- unefficent, feels nice, shoots nicely- £350
-empire axe- efficent, shoots well- £320
!!!steer clear of vanguard creeds and demons!!!!!!!! very unreliable, feel poorly made and have no uk support (company went bust in uk)!!!

or if you like solely new guns look at:
Axe as above
proto reflex rail
etek 4
etha

but before buying a mini definitely try one to see if you like the sizing :)

Personally i wouldn't say there's a great deal in it, both similar on air, both shoot well, both reliable, Yeah you get a shaft4 with the etek but its a .693 back so its massive anyway, both have annoying flashy light boards, you will want to put an on/off asa on the mini or a thread saver, iv had two minis, a gen 1 - never had an issue with it, and a gen 3 again no issues, etek 4 is a bit snappy with brittle paint on colder days but with the cure 4 you'll be rocking.

Have a shoot of them both first, mini is smoother, slightly quieter, etek bit more kick and noise from the open bolt.

My first marker was an etek 2 and i preferred my subsequent mini 100%. I loved how good it was on paint, how quite and accurate also I quite like how it worked if you know what i mean I find it a different system.
fair the barrel kinda sucks but after market barrels is common. On the other hand I have a few mates with etek 3's who love them. it all gets down to personal preference and money. I only got rid of the mini to get the axe which rocks
