Ripping it up for Epidemic

Hello, hope someone can help, basically i have an invert mini with a orange morphane bolt in and a APE board, recentley i have had to reset the board. The problem i am having is at high rates of fire my psi drops to below 100psi and does not recharge to 200psi causing the paintballs to literally drop out of the barrell. If you fire slower then it recharges fine. Is there a simple fix to this?

Would the current baord settings help to sort this?

Any help would be appreciated.

James

Still have the stock bolt, but not the board. it came with the Ape when i bought it.

The default settings are follows:
Solenoid open pulse (ms) 5 - min/max 1/20
Solenoid dwell (ms) 20 - min/max - 1/30
Solenoid close pulse (ms) 10 - min/max 1/20
bolt stick dwell (ms) 16 - min/max 1/16
bolt stick reset time (sec) 15 - min/max - 1/25
breech load delay (ms) 5 - min/max 1/25
bolt return delay (ms) 25 - min/max 1/40

don't know if this helps at all.

Don't have any air at the mo, so going to head down to the northern quarter tomorrow.

I would put the stock bolt in and see if it still does the same thing.

Do you have the stock board still?

I know nothing about the APE board Im afraid, but I would like to troubleshoot whether its the bolt or not first before we do anything else.

Have a test and get back to me mate.

That's the first thing we tried, thought it could have been the air system, but it did not make a difference.

I have finally fixed it, i completely stripped it down, change all the o-rings, cleaned the solenoid and re-lubed with dow33. Think the lube i was using might have been causing the problem. Was using slick honey. Thanks for replying though mate.

it could be the air system your using not being able to keep up the pace

Probably too much lube and too low an operating pressure, doubt you actually needed to change all the o-rings, my old mini which I sold to my mate has probably had at least 20-30 cases through it and still shoots fine on the original o-rings, however when he messed about it with it one time he had the exact same problem as you describe, and it was for the two reasons stated above, its easily solved.

  • de-gas the marker
  • strip and relube with a MODERATE amount of lube, it should be nice and shiny not with visible lumps of lube present
  • turn the velocity adjuster all the way in
  • re-gas and turn up the reg/asa so the operating pressure is 195-200psi
  • turn out velocity adjuster until chronoed at field velocity
  • turn down operating pressure until gun does not recharge adequately or velocity becomes irregular/drops off, then turn it up slightly until normal operation/consistency is resumed
  • If you would like to carry out more in depth tuning/mess with it further see this link for info: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2581649
