Last year there were several postings with regards to Ken Costin and his Family.

For those who don't know, Ken was a much respected paintballer who played for several teams over the years but died last year.

Lots of players offered help to raise funds for Ken's family including collections at various tournaments. I am not aware if any of these collections happened but the Series 2002 offered to organise an event with all proceeds going to Ken's Family.

This event is on 13 January at JCS Leisure's Elsham site. To date only 17 teams have booked into the event which is a poor response. I hoped to have 32 teams but if we can't get 32 then 24 would be a good number.

ALL the proceeds will be donated to the family.

JCS Leisure are giving the site, a sup'air ball field and CO2 for free, Planet Eclipse are loaning a sup'air field, Zap and Diablo have agreed to donate paint as prizes or as an auction prize, Quantum Products are offering a prize. Team REDZ and Team TREMMOR have offered to marshal for free, Undercover will supply trophies and a sup'air field. Therefore there are no expenses and all the donations (game fees) go to Ken's Family.

All I need now are another 8-10 marshals to make sure we have 6 per field (32 teams) and some more teams!!!

As far as i am aware, not a single collection was followed through.....well not to the family any way.

I have just looked back at the old threads of all the promises and actions..............well what can i say.

Come on guy's.......enter the Ken Costin Comp, Help out as you would like to be helped.

There are a lot of people who are donating there time and equipment for this, and this is the first leg of the series 2002 (last year 2001, it was packed) so what is the differance this time around!!!

Well the Series 2002 and the sponsors of the Series made one promise and we will keep to it, so teams get booked in today.

Hot Air, or is it!!!!

Bud- I just wanted to suggest that everyone make a small donation (if they want) to his family from the paintball community. I know myself and my team would be happy to at the Diablo Cup if you (or ****) would accept it on behalf of his family.
Just a suggestion. It is sad to see a fellow paintballer pass. Please give his wife and kids our condolences.

On behalf of Team ******, and all the other Southern based teams, may i send my condolences to his wife and daughters. The event is a truly sad one, and i hope at a time like this the paintball community is able to pull together and show its solidarity. A collection for his family is an excellent idea and hopefully we can get something sorted out at the temple tourney on the 11th.

Once again my condolences to his family and those who knew him.

Do you happen to mean Tremmor?

As far as I can remember, the guy that was going to collect at Bullswood could not attend. Due to other commitments, neither could I, and nobody else had volunteered to collect.

Also, due to marshalling duties, neither myself, Team Tremmor, or anyone else from our site could attend the presentation evening in December.

However Twinkle Toes and Tremmor had already said that they would marshall at the event this month FOC, I am hoping to enter a team, or maybe even marshall the event, and either myself or Twink will have the donation for Kens family on the day.

Just thought I would set the record straight.
