Hey guys I wonder if any of you can help me... I'm writing a short article for our forum on paintball-specific jargon, and not entirely sure myself on some things... If I post up a list of abbreviations, and example of how I've answered a previous one, could you give me a hand?

These ones are about the different tournament leagues, formats and game ideas... If you can think of any other ones, please post them up too... I always get a mental blank when I need to actually think about something...

Cheers in advance!!!

WPL - World Paintball League - Relatively new format, often ridiculed as the 'WWF' of paintball, more geared to create a spectacle for fans than a credible sporting environment - www.uapl.tv.

PSP --> Paintball Sports Promotions. Run by some of the most powerful industry personalities, Dave Youngblood, Renick Miller, Jerry Braun and others. Hosts of the Xball events and the NXL, and rivals of the NPPL

NPPL --> National Professional Paintball League. Run events in the USA. Home of the Huntingdon Beach event often regarded as the best in paintball. Headed up by Chuck Hendsch bancked by the financial muscle of WDP in the form of Pure Promotions headed up by Ged Green and Bart Walkerdine. 7 man format.

X-Ball --> 5 man traincrash paintball, games last one hour, and are far more exciting to watch than regualr 7 man. The future of paintball.

NXL -- Last season the National Xball League was made up of teams representing US cities such as Philyl and Baltimore. Some of the best players in the world. Talent wise rivalled only by the NPPL's Pro Division, with many of the best teams competing in both leagues.

Millenium --> European paintball series, headed up by Niall Squire, Laurent Hamet, Stephen Baldwin, Manfred and Perdo. Responsible for the 7man World Cup and the Campaign Cup among other events.

Centurio --> An eastern European Series, with legs in Poland and other Eastern bloc nations

UK Masters --> A Uk series run by Wendy and the rest of the Fallen Angels.

Well for larger, kind of feeder leagues....

CFOA: Carolina Field Owners Association, located on the East coast/southeast part of American. Basically PSP format but played through several states down there.

XPSL: I don't know what it stands for, but it is part of the west coast tourney series. Basically another PSP feeder event, but it has teams all over the US.
