Infinity to Boomstick - worth the cash?

A couple of people of told me to invest in a Dye Boomstick for my IR3. At present I am running the standard 14" Infinity that it came with and have no real complaints. But...

Has anyone here gone from a Infinity to a Boomstick? Do you feel it makes that much difference (accuracy wise)? Worth the extra £££ ?

If I get a Boomstick I'll probably get a 12" - I take it the slightly shorter length shouldn't affect accuracy significantly?

I know paint to barrel match is important etc but just after people's 'real' experiences.

Thanks for your thoughts...

Plus..my infinity decided to try and merge with my ir3....it too me and a friend a good 10-15 minutes to get it off.

Anyone else have that prob?

i have an infinity barrel for my tippmann (btw, did any of u know WDP did them for the tippy in black and silver) anyway, it usually takes me a good hard twist (of the barrel) to get it out. just lettin u know skull.

...because, like I said, a few people (far more experienced than myself) have told me I should get a Boomstick as it will improve the performance of the marker, accuracy wise. I realise that no paintball gun is ever going to be 100% accurate consistently - but if there is a way of getting it to that end of the scale (e.g. by adding something like a boomstick) I'm interested.

However, having never tried one myself I have no frame of reference as to whether the implied performance increase from a boomstick from an infinity is negligible or not for the investment, hence the post.

VW's are the game
Went from Infinity to Boomer only to have problems with it. Then switched to 14" Freak and loved it.

Stuck barrel to marker is a simple answer... Thermal Expansion

If you put it on while your marker was nice and toasty then took it out in the cold, the ID of the threaded hole shrinks and thus making it a real bitch to get off in the cold. Trust me I have done many times. Tightened the damn thing at home and go out and play in 8*c and try to take it off. FOOKING HELL!
