Right people

i have an eclipse impulse, where i believe the vision doesnt work, so i have bought a new complete vision kit, too put into my impy.

i have done the top part with the smaller board (where the actual vision strip and eye go into the body, that has been done fine. however on the main board which sits in the grip frame... i have noticed when taking out my old board, that the 'speaker' for the 'blip' is not mounted on the board, but on seperate wires, this 'speaker' then sits in the grip frame by the hole where the battery lead goes.

'HOWEVER', on the new board i have recieved the speaker is mounted on it, thus meaning that the board cannot sit comfortably in the grip frame as there isnt a hole for the speaker to sit in, therefore meaning the switch which the trigger has to touch, cannot touch.

Before asking if theres anything i can do about this, i was wondering if the vision wasn't working, whether it would have the capabilities to work if i use the new top board (with eye and orange eye tape), but keep the older grip frame board???

and if not... whether theres anything i can do about the position of the speaker...:)

Thankyou

try the top vision board on the original board then to test the vision just make sure the blue led is flashing quickly and it should chirp when the breech is clear but the solenoid should click when there is a ball in the breech. as for the bottom board not fitting, is it actually the speaker that isnt letting it sit flush are you sure it is nothing else? and as for the old vision board try cleaning the contacts between the small board and the large board.

hope thats of use.

Remember though that the board will work without the speak, so if its a major prob just take the speak out.

Anothing, what trigger frame you putting the board into?, since I remember when I had a Impy for two that for some types of frames you had to re solder the speaker to make it fit in the frame or something

i had the same prob, i was putting a vision board into and older style i-frame, you have 2 options

a) either use a soilering iron and heat the two points on the board where the speaker is soildered in, and keep heating and pushing till the speaker falls out of the soilder,
or
b) if you dont have a soilder, you can use a pair of snips or a ultra sharp knife and cut the 2 wires going into the board,

the board will work just the same without the speaker except you dont hear the cherpy sound,

if you are that desperat to have your impy make a wierd sound then take step a. and keep hold of the speaker, and soilder 2 wires to the board where the speaker holes are and then soilder the wires the correct way around to the speaker, and feed the speaker wire down with the battery and thus lets you have the speaker in the gripframe along with your battery,
